Hiring Participants
When you are ready to begin recruiting participants for your study, you have two options:
- Strella’s panels: You can hire participants through Strella’s external partners
- Self-recruited: You can hire participants from your own candidate / customer pool

If you are recruiting through Strella's panel providers, navigate to the Participants tab on the Recruit page and click 'Hire participants'.

Choosing your target audience
When selecting your target audience for the research study, the first step will be to choose between everyday consumers or business professionals.
Consumer Audience (B2C): This involves recruiting from the general public or consumer groups
Business Audience (B2B): This involves recruiting from a pool of professionals in relevant industries.
You may choose:

- Who will ultimately use this product / service?
- Is this a work-related decision or personal?
- Are we studying industry trends or consumer habits?
Choosing your audience filters
You will then be prompted to select filters to help find participants who best match your target audience.
You can let AI help you define your audience by describing your ideal participant, and the filters will be auto-filled for you.

Alternatively, you can go through each filter and select them manually. You will have the option to fill out:
- Research topics
- Location
- Household income
- Gender
- Education
- Ethnicity
- Age range
Tell participants about your research study
You will then be tasked with revising your study title and description - you should make it clear and engaging, as this is what participants will see when deciding to join.

Review and confirm your order
In this page, you will need to enter the number of participants you want to take the interview, the incentive you plan to pay participants, and decide if you want to turn auto-invite on or off. Once those details are entered, you can check-out using a credit card, and this will launch recruitment.


If you have filled out all the details and are not ready to check-out yet, you can select 'Save & exit' in the top right corner. You will be able to pick up where you left off and check out in the future by navigating to the 'Orders' tab, selecting the 3 dots and clicking 'View'.
Self-recruited
If you choose to hire participants from your own candidate pool, you can use the following steps to invite participants to interview:
- Click ‘Share’ in the top right corner
- Select the clipboard icon in the pop-up to copy the link to the interview
- Send participants the link to the interview using your preferred method of communication (typically done via Email)

You can leverage the following email template to invite your candidate pool to interview:
Hi [name],
Thank you for being a valued [Company name] customer! We’re always looking for ways to [improve x], and feedback from participants like you is extremely valuable.
We’d like to invite you to participate in a [x] minute interview to share your experience and feedback on [x topic].
To make things even more seamless, we’ve partnered with Strella so you can give your feedback through an AI-voice / video moderator. Rest assured, it’s designed to keep things natural and easy—think of it as a friendly guide rather than anything robotic.
As a thank-you for your time, you’ll receive a [$x incentive] after completing the interview. Spots are limited, so don’t wait—click [this link] to begin your [qualification screener // interview at any time that works best for you].
You can complete it any time on [desktop or mobile]. If you ever need anything repeated, you can just ask the AI moderator to repeat itself during the interview!
