Adding Conditional Logic
When a researcher is building a discussion guide, it can be important to add logic so that certain questions or stimuli are only shown to specific participants. Within the question guide, you are able to add this conditional logic and build entire pathways for different segments of your total audience. You can build conditional logic based on two pieces of criteria:
- Screener Responses: Participant responses to their screening survey
- In-Call Survey Questions: Participant responses to multiple choice questions (single- or multi-select) programmed earlier in the guide
To set up Conditional Logic, click the section title where you would like your conditions applied. Then toggle on "Audience rules" in the panel on the right-hand side.

Next, select the question and response that you would like to build conditions for. You can add multiple response options to a single condition.

You can also add multiple conditions to one logic pathway. In this example, we are building conditional logic so that our participants who shop online twice a month or more often AND are not aware of the baby food brands Earth's Best and Little Spoon.
