Strella Changelog – October 16, 2026
This week we shipped say-do gaps on Task questions, matrix questions in screeners, importing only the parts of a guide you need, and a choice of how the AI moderator ends a task.

Say-do gaps on Task questions
When a participant says one thing but their screen shows another, the Task question's Summary card now shows a Say-do gap detected alert. Review lists each of those participants with the quote and what the screen showed, plus a play button to jump to that moment.
Matrix questions in screeners
Screeners can now include a matrix question, which asks the same question about several items in one grid. For example, "How often do you use each of these?" with a row for Slack and a row for Zoom, and Daily, Weekly, and Never as the columns. Each cell can have a qualify or disqualify rule, and skip logic works on a cell too.
Import only the parts of a guide you need
When you import from another study, you can now preview its screener and interview and tick only the sections and questions you want. If you leave out questions that some conditional logic depends on, choose Keep conditional logic to bring those questions along or Remove conditional logic to drop the rules that need them.
Choose how the AI moderator ends a task
Under Project settings › AI moderator › Behavior › Advanced, you can now choose how the AI moderator decides a task is finished, for example with an End task button or explicit confirmation.
Small fixes
- Screener skip rules: skip rules that are broken or no longer match their question are now marked Needs attention
- Participant limits: a share link now stops admitting people once the whole study is full
- Multi-select custom fields: when a participant has more than one value in a custom field, the participants table, participant profile, and Breakdown sidebar now show all of them
- Camera and microphone checks: when a participant's camera or microphone can't be used, the setup step now explains the problem in plain language and how to fix it, instead of showing a browser error
- Video playback for uploads: if an uploaded video plays in the interview but won't appear in highlight reels, choose Regenerate video playback from the interview's Advanced menu instead of uploading it again
