Strella Changelog – May 15, 2026

This week we shipped copyable participant call links, default captions with a redesigned overlay, mid-call screen switching, and improved call reliability on slower networks.

Copy a participant’s unique call link

A new Copy call link option in each participant’s Share menu copies their unique call URL with all custom fields pre-filled — ready to paste into an email or message without manually constructing it.

Default captions and redesigned caption overlay

Project settings now include a Default captions on toggle that turns captions on automatically when participants join a call. The caption overlay has been redesigned too: it’s draggable, shows each speaker’s words in a persistent card that changes color by speaker, and no longer flickers during transitions.

Change shared screen during a call

Participants can now switch the screen or window they’re sharing mid-call without stopping and restarting their share. A new Change shared screen option appears in call settings while screen sharing is active.

More reliable call setup on slow connections

Calls now wait for a fully established connection before recording begins, preventing the “We had trouble setting up your call” error that would redirect participants on slower networks. Calls that fail to connect now stay on the connecting screen instead of ejecting.

Small fixes

  • Sort participants table: the participants table now has a Sort button with a searchable field picker — sort by any column including session length, with configurable direction
  • AI Chat citations: citations in AI Chat reports now display with correct timestamps and working session jump links; older reports that were affected have also been updated automatically
  • Screener answers: participant answers no longer disappear when the page is refreshed mid-input
  • Imported session layout: the video layout dropdown is now visible on sessions imported from outside Strella
  • Drag-and-drop on notes: reordering notes and themes by dragging now works reliably
