Strella Changelog – April 24, 2026
This week we shipped two new question types (Slider and Free Response), chart exports for Analysis, AI-generated report covers, automatic thumbnails for uploaded recordings, and a full preview mode for conditional Question Guides.

Slider and Free Response questions
Question Guides now support two new question types for everyone:
- Slider: numeric scale with configurable min/max, step size, and endpoint labels
- Free Response: open-ended text input
Both work in the builder, in live interviews on web and mobile, and show up in Analysis alongside your other survey responses, with translation support across 40+ languages.
Export Analysis charts as images or Excel
Charts in Analysis can now be downloaded as PNG images or as Excel files. The Excel export includes the underlying formulas and a summary, so you can drop charts into a deck or keep working with the data in your own spreadsheet.
AI-generated report covers
Reports now ship with AI-generated cover images, and you can regenerate a fresh cover or upload your own (up to 4MB) directly from the report or from AI Chat. Each "Re-roll" asks for a distinctly different style, so you don't end up with near-duplicate variations.
Thumbnails for uploaded session recordings
Uploaded MP4 recordings now generate thumbnails automatically and show them on session cards in Results, just like sessions recorded inside Strella. No more grey placeholders for imported content.
Full preview for conditional Question Guides
Previewing a guide with conditional logic now walks through every section, even ones that would normally be skipped based on screener or in-call answers. A new pre-preview dialog tells you when conditional logic is in play and points you to the share link if you want to test the real participant routing.
Small fixes
- Reports no longer cut off: AI Chat–generated reports now finish generating before they save, so the markdown no longer ends mid-sentence
- Default screen share option: project settings let you choose whether the browser's screen share picker defaults to Window or Entire screen when participants share their screen
- Redirect URLs tab: the four participant redirect URLs (call finished, screened out, quota full, dropout) now live in their own Redirect URLs tab in Project Settings, with a shortcut from the recruit page menu
- Participants table: managing columns on the All tab no longer crashes the page
- Analysis stability: session summaries, theme analysis, and report generation no longer fail intermittently
- Faster AI Chat: AI Chat queries return roughly twice as fast and transcript loading is up to 9× faster
